Yesterday, I came across an article on Twitter with the headline: “Mom Receives Hundreds of Orders For Her ‘Make American Kind Again’ Signs.
Talk about a nice pivot from the endless ‘Trump’s-first-week’ articles and re-tweets.
Amanda Blanc started an Etsy shop to sell homemade yard signs with this positive slogan, to spread post-election kindness and stray away from divisive political statements.
She told the Huffington Post, “So many people have reached out to me thanking me for this, and I think it’s because it’s something that was sort of missing during the campaign season.”
Sound familiar? If you’ve been following my “Kindness Prevails” campaign you’ll know this is exactly my purpose- to drown out political polarization and divide through identifying acts of kindness every day.
Blanc’s shop, which sells signs, bags and other apparel, is an example of one small kindness gesture that can touch hundreds of people.
